So glad you asked! A wine tasting is a fun and sociable way to learn a bit more about the wonderful world of wine. A wine expert will guide you though a series of different wines, give you tips on getting the most out of your tasting experience, share interesting facts about where the wines come from, and explain the flavours and aromas. Tasting several wines side by side is a great way of comparing different styles and deciding what you like best.
What makes a wine down tasting special?
At The Wine Down, we want to make wine tastings more personal and approachable. The wine world can seem a bit, dare we say, snobby sometimes, but all of our wine guides are fun, easy going wine lovers who'll make sure you and your guests have a great time. Because our tastings are private, we can tailor them to what you like, or what you'd like to try, so you know there won't be any duds. And everyone else on the tasting will be one of your mates, so there's no chance of getting stuck next to some wine bore. Win win.
Do i need to know anything about wine to enjoy your tastings?
We can tailor our wine tastings to you, so whether you're a total wine novice or a self-styled wine buff, we've got you covered. Maybe you know what you like but not how to describe it, maybe you love wine but not wine lists, maybe you've been sticking to the same things for a while and want to branch out. We've been there. We got you.
Where are you based?
Our home is Hackney, East London, but we can run a wine tasting anywhere in London.
Do you do parties?
Yes! We can run a guided wine tasting for your birthday party, classy hen-do or stag-do, office Christmas party or corporate event. Just let us know via our booking form.
