Hello! I'm Tatty, the founder and head wine guide at The Wine Down.

I started out as an enthusiastic amateur wine drinker. I knew what I liked but not quite how to ask for it and tended to get a bit baffled by wine lists.
 

So I took a couple of WSET qualifications and totally fell in love.  Wine to me is so much more than a drink. It's stories and history and science and people and memories. But sometimes the way people talk or write about it can feel exclusive or snobby.  So now I want to share my knowledge with other people in a fun and friendly setting, so we can all enjoy ordering wine as much as we enjoy drinking it.

My favourite wines are Muscadets and Pinot Noirs (especially a Burgundy if someone else is paying...). But I'm also pretty partial to an espresso martini. Or three.
